Writer's Block: My Favorite Neighborhood Business

Oct. 19th, 2009 | 07:33 pm

What is it about your favorite local small business that keeps you coming back again and again?

There's is this little coffee shop in the town I live in (however I will not disclose the name nor the town). It's brilliant, absolutely fantastic. The best hot chocolate and café lattés in the area are served there. My friends and I are regulars, we go there every week, just to spend time together. The atmosphere is so tranquil and intimate, even if there is someone sitting at the table (or sofa as it were), one still feels as though it were just one's friends and one's self. Not to mention that the owner gives us a fair discount =)

I am fully aware that no one reads this journal but if you are the sole peron out there who is, hello, I'm back after a long while. Haven't posted since my first day  actually.
Anyways, I have a new fascination, namely Kate Nash. Love her music. End of post.

Writer's Block: Gone but Not Forgotten

Many beloved television shows are no longer with us, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. What defunct television show do you miss the most?
Unfortunately many shows have come and left as soon as they were around. For me, the shows I miss most are Firefly and Tru Calling. The reason is plain and simple: They were never completed.
First shown out of order and then promptly canceled because to many viewers were confused by the happenings within the show, Firefly's flame was put in a glass and died way before its time. It is a show of pure sheer genius that can only come from the brilliant mind of Joss Whedon. We had one season and that was it. For me, that was far too little: FOX obviously did not recognize the multitude of the damage they had done, and have taken yet another perfectly perfect show off the media.
Tru Calling, quite possibly a show with one of the most interesting plot lines, was also canceled mid second season. =( Again the complexity of the plot was to much for the shallow TV watchers to handle, apparently.
And thus we added it to the TV show graveyard.
May they rest in peace.
